There are two committees that meet monthly to discuss issues that relate to Muirlands; Governance and School Site Council. Parents, teachers, administration, and auxiliary staff are represented on these committees. The purpose of the Muirlands Site Governance Team (SGT) is to provide a forum for the exchange of information between all members of the MMS community and to facilitate shared-decision making on issues as enumerated in the by-laws with the purpose of improving the achievement of all students through quality teaching and learning experiences.
The responsibilities of the School Site Council include the development and oversight of the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) and the budgets. This committee meets monthly to analyze assessment data, monitor the implementation of the plan, and oversee budgets associated with the plan.
In the past, Governance and School Site Council (SSC) met on two separate days. This year both Governance and SSC will meet on the last Monday of each month.
